As posted previously I am reading Lola Olufemi’s ‘Experiments in Imagining Otherwise’, which she describes as being all about the matter of how we shall live. And last year I visited the The Tourists an exhibition at Turner contemporary, which explores amongst other themes 'our relationship to images, architecture and place, destruction and loss'. Tightrope Walking is also about exploring our relationships with the world as it rapidly changes around us. The challenge ahead will be to create work that responds to the responses gathered through the postcards and the archival research that ran alongside it, that rather than offer answers will pose further questions. Rather than give in to despair and doominess (to re- use the phrase from the second postcard) will open up possibilities for a future, however uncertain it may be.
